About us

We are a group of women who meet to exchange experiences and ideas. The group comprises all walks of life, from science to the arts, from business to the not for profit sector. We meet every few weeks to hear a short talk from one member then share a discussion on its implications. Topics stem from each member’s skills or professional backgrounds, or involve a subject they are particularly interested in. Our intention is to broaden knowledge by sharing our individual wisdom and insights.

Past talks have focused on the ageing brain, being a writer, radicalisation, the experience of being a child-care lawyer and the work of an Ethiopian heritage charity. Future topics will be just as diverse.

All our meetings take place in Aldeburgh library. We hold meetings more or less monthly – and always on a Saturday from 4pm – 5.30pm. We begin with a cup of tea and then have the talk and discussion. Usually a few minutes are devoted to business issues – who will give the next talk and so on.  We are always keen to identify volunteers for future talks but everyone is welcome to attend – you don’t have to talk to come!

After each talk one of the participants writes a short summary and this can be found under Past Events. Future talks are posted in the Future Events section. An email reminder is also sent out to anyone who has expressed an interest in being kept informed about future talks and dates.
